in spite of our schools' good intentions, the intellectual development
of many of our students is being unfairly short circuited in one-size-fits-all
classrooms—from elementary school through college—and
they grow up believing that they are not very smart or capable.

rather than applying dysfunctional labels such as A.D.D., Dyslexic, Hyperactive,
Learning Disabled, or even average.
